Where we are

The CLC covers an area of 750,000 square kilometres in the southern half of the Northern Territory. Its main office is in Alice Springs with nine regional offices.

It extends to Kalkaringi in the north west, Tennant Creek, Finke and Docker River in the south west.

In the Central Land Council’s region, traditional Aboriginal landowners own 407,985 square kilometres of Aboriginal freehold land under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act. This represents more than 52 per cent of the 776,549 square kilometres of land covered by the CLC’s nine regions.

While the legislation governing the CLC is only for the Northern Territory, many of the CLC's constituent's traditional country extends across state borders.
