Transit Permit Application

Please be advised that as of July 23rd no transit permits will be issued for the Tjukaruru Road until further notice. The Tjukaruru road extends from the WA border to the Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park boundary.
The Kaltukatjara (Docker River) community have advised that their community is closed to non-essential travellers.
The Ngaanyatjarra Council has advised the Central Land Council that their communities are also closed and that they are not issuing permits for non-essential travel along the Great Central road, also known as part of the Outback Way.
Please visit their website for more details.
If travel to Kaltukatjara is considered essential, an entry permit from the CLC should be applied for.
Due to health risks for community members any non-resident travel to remote communities in Central Australia should be reconsidered other than required travel for health, supply and essential services personnel. Non-essential travel to or through remote communities in Central Australia is not recommended at this time due to the COVID-19 transmission risk. Any issued permits are invalid if permittee has travelled to any of the countries listed in the Australian Government travel advisories within last 14 days.
