The members, the executive and the chair

Aboriginal residents in each of the CLC's nine regions elect delegates to represent them at land council meetings and to inform them about the discussions and outcomes of these meetings.

The 90 council members elect the CLC's 11-member executive, a committee of the council with formally delegated powers. The executive meets between council meetings, generally seven or eight times a year. It is comprised of the chair, the deputy chair and one member from each of the CLC's nine regions.

The chair - Sammy Wilson

Owner/operator of Uluru Family Tours. Former chair of the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park Board of Joint Management and the Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation. "As a CLC delegate, I want to learn and talk up for future generations. I’m interested in developing tourism businesses that support people to live on their outstations. And I will keep talking up for my community."

The deputy chair - Barbara Shaw

First female CLC delegate for Tangentyere Council, where she co-co-ordinates the family safety group targeting domestic violence in town camps. ABA member. Uluru Statement working group member. Engagement officer with the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the NT. Former Green Party candidate and board member of the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association, Institute for Aboriginal Development and Central Australian Aboriginal Programmes Unit. National Nuclear Free Alliance and co-chair of Aboriginal Housing NT. Advocate for a better education system.
