Tangentyere artists hit Singapore

The exhibition Urban Aboriginal Art – a Survey Show 2010 offered international viewers a fresh perspective on Australian Aboriginal art.

The acrylic paintings reveal the interactions between the urban and traditional influences in town camp artists’ lives.

While living in Alice Springs, the artists paint their links to country. Conversely many depict aspects of their contemporary urban existences - both in traditional and western styles.

Also unique to the exhibition, is the stylistic breadth of work produced by a single art centre - a product of the immense cultural diversity of the town camp population.

The exhibition represents the work of 12 artists.
