Kurdiji building opening day

The Lajamanu kurdiji group officially opened their meeting area in May, 2013.  This previously derelict building was renovated using community-controlled mining royalty funds (GMAAAC) and is a community-owned and controlled space for people to meet, discuss issues and work to keep their community strong.

The CLC has been providing assistance to the kurdiji through the Lajamanu governance project, which produced this report for community residents to reflect on the role of the kurdiji group and its future direction.
