Other Projects

Andrew Glenn and Stanley Tilmouth work on the Nolans Bore laundry.

We work with a growing number of traditional owners who are negotiating exploration, mining and other land use agreements and want to use the resulting income to develop their communities. Since 2012, they have begun a number of projects with our support:

  • Rover Community Development Project
  • Wangarri-Kari Community Development Project
  • Nolans Bore Community Development Project
  • Urlampe Community Development Project
  • Loves Creek Community Development Project
  • Twin Bonanza Community Development Project
  • Surprise Well Affected Areas Community Development Project
  • Kurtinja Community Development Project

We support these groups to establish suitable project governance to prioritise, plan and allocate their income, learning from our completed community development projects.

Many of these newer projects support outstation residents and assist families with funeral expenses and sorry business. One group has committed income from the Tennant Creek to Mount Isa section of the Northern Gas Pipeline to improve the visitor facilities at their outstation, build a workshop and provide mobile phone reception.

The group that receives income from the Twin Bonanza mine and aims to establish a cattle enterprise on their country employed locals for several months on outstation repairs.
